In addition to being a legal observer, I've been a volunteer legal worker on two NLG-affiliated projects: Occupy Portland in Oregon and the 2016 Kinross uprising in Michigan. I helped found ELK Legal Collective in Portland and Michigan Abolition and Prisoner Solidarity. I've organized on various social justice campaigns such as post-9/11 anti-repression, Benton Harbor BANCO, Radical Washtenaw, Justice for Aura Rosser, and Justice for Cornelius Fredericks. I've worked as a labor organizer and qualitative health researcher, and have a master's in sociology with a specialization in environmental justice. I'd like to support the Board in its ongoing work to grow its relationships, responsiveness, and accountability to the Movement.
