Founder and Executive Director of FORCE Detroit 
Alia focuses on violence prevention and positive youth development. She invests in and uplifts often-ignored grassroots leaders, youth dealing with criminalization and violence, and justice-impacted peacemakers. Read full bio here

 

NANCY A. PARKER
Managing Attorney of the Detroit Justice Center’s Movement Lawyering Practice
Nancy focuses on providing legal support to grassroots organizations fighting for racial justice in Detroit and surrounding communities. She is a Board member of the Detroit & Michigan National Lawyers Guild and was co-counsel in the successful Detroit Will Breathe litigation against the Detroit Police Department.  Nancy  is currently active with #StopShotSpotter and the Coalition for Police Transparency & Accountability.  


TAWANA PETTY
Convening Member of Detroit Digital Justice Coalition
Tawana is a social justice organizer, poet, and author. Her work focuses on racial justice and equity issues, as well as advocating for data and digital privacy and consent. She has been a convening member of the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition since 2016.  tawanapetty.org

 

LLOYD SIMPSON
History Scholar and Detroit Will Breathe Organizer
Lloyd is a member of the radical direct action organization Detroit Will Breathe, formed in the mass movement after police murdered George Floyd. Lloyd's Ph.D. research focus includes Black Freedom Struggle, Black Marxism, and the Carceral State. Read full bio here.
