THANK YOU ALL - who supported, attended, spoke, played music, donated, and sponsored activists for the Detroit & Michigan National Lawyers Guild 84th Anniversary Dinner.

Though it was a virtual dinner event, with no food, it certainly was nourishing for our minds and hearts!

The Dinner was a huge success because we were able to publicly and collectively honor Detroit Will Breathe; Michigan Liberation; and Wayne Law NLG students Emily VanBarr, Brandon Wright, Davi Lebow, McKenna Thayer, and alum Lauren Pereny (now a Guild atty); and thank our movement legal support community. We also succeeded in raising funds to support the important work of the Detroit & Michigan National Lawyers Guild Chapter!

We celebrate the work of our Honorees as well as the dedication and hard work of all Legal Observers, attorneys, and students who have been on the ground, in the courtrooms, and in the background, supporting the energized Black Lives Matter struggle in Detroit and throughout Michigan.

Detroit's beloved Rashida Tlaib introduces our exciting keynote speaker, Cori Bush of St. Louis.

Cori Bush is an activist, nurse, mother, pastor, and the newest member of "the Squad". Cori protested police terror in Ferguson and boldly supports the people's struggles in the streets, the prisons, Palestine - wherever they are fighting injustice.

The event features a variety of MUSIC - inspiring, thought-provoking, beautiful - from artists who are Detroit Will Breathe organizers: Sammie Lewis, Allen Dennard, and Jae Bass; also, the music video from Inner City & Idris Elba (Feat. Detroit Will Breathe), "We All Move Together"
