Fundraiser "Radiance of Resistance" film at Trinosophes in Detroit
Speaker Huwaida Arraf
Friday, November 10, 2023
Radiance of Resistance (Unlocked Films) is an award-winning documentary about the lives and activism of two Palestinian girls, living under military occupation in Nabi Saleh, Palestine - the Occupied West Bank. Janna Ayyad (seen in the flyer above) was 9 years old, and Ahed Tamimi was 14 during the making of the film. Janna has been dubbed by The Guardian as “the youngest journalist in Palestine.” Ahed Tamimi was arrested at age 16 and put in prison after being dragged from her home in a predawn raid because she stood up to Israeli soldiers who invaded her home and shot her 15 year-old cousin.
Huwaida Arraf is a Palestinian-American human rights attorney and activist, and co-founder of the Palestinian-led International Solidarity Movement. She is a member of the Detroit & Michigan NLG. Please read Huwaida's bio.
