TALKING POINTS [One minute to make a public comment]
Vote ‘“YES” and pass the Detroit Right to Counsel Ordinance without delay!
Detroiters deserve legal representation when facing eviction. Protect Detroit residents and tenants now by passing a strong and equitable right to counsel ordinance!
We deserve and demand a right to full legal representation for low-income Detroiters facing eviction. We need more than “advice” or “access to counsel”- a right to counsel for full legal representation will reduce evictions and keep Detroiters in their homes!
A Right to Counsel is legally sound, fiscally responsible, and it is the right thing to do. Pass the right to counsel ordinance NOW!
Every day that goes by without a right to counsel in place, more Detroiters are being needlessly evicted.
Share your personal story about why you support the Right To Counsel and tell the Detroit City Council in one minute.
Please show up, share this call to action, and bring a friend.
